We’ve already set the shoe three times, and seeing their faces light up has been a delight. This year’s twists and turns have kept us all engaged and invested in every episode. 1. Forgetting Sinterklaas’s Big Book (het boek)

As the Steamboat set sail from Spain, the Pieten were struck with a terrible realization – Sinterklaas’s big book (het boek) was missing! But, of course, the Head Piet refused to let the children down. In a moment of inspiration, he came up with a daring plan: to create a new book and fill it with the names of every child in the land. 

With a flash of brilliance, the Piet invited all the children to visit Sinterklaas’s website and register their names. Excitement was in the air as children from every corner of the country flocked to join the race against time to help out! How exciting and fun is this!

2. Can Pieten Set a Shoe?

Sinterklaas and his Pieten made a grand entrance into the Netherlands, arriving in the picturesque town of Gorinchem. The excitement was palpable as Sinterklaas announced that everyone could set a shoe on the magical night of his arrival on November 18th. However, there was a twist in the tale, as the mischievous Pieten decided to follow suit and set their own shoes out for gifts! This didn’t sit well with the Head Piet, who was concerned about the timely delivery of presents to all the good children. To settle the matter, Sinterklaasjournaal put it to a vote, and the kids were thrilled to have a say. In our household, the vote was a resounding “No” – my young children were eager to ensure that the Pieten kept their shoes on to deliver their presents on time!

3. Forgetting the Code for the Safe

During the entire series, a mysterious Piet had been hiding in a chest throughout the festivities. And it soon became apparent that this Piet was none other than the Book Piet, entrusted with Sinterklaas’s prized possession – the big book (het boek). To everyone’s surprise, the book had been locked in a safe all along, with the code known only to the Book Piet. 

But there was a problem – the Book Piet had forgotten the code! Fearing that Sinterklaas learned he forgot the code, he’d been hiding and pretending to be a different piet. Now, with the children’s help, the Pieten have determined to crack the code and open the safe. 

Their only hope is to try out different codes until they find the correct one; the children must help. All children are invited to Sinterklaas’s website to try out any code that might work to open the safe. My children were so engaged that we have nearly 10 times tried to put the correct code.

1. Sinterklaasjournaal 2023 – Set Piet’s Shoe

With just a few nights left until Sinterklaasavond, it’s the perfect time to set a shoe with your child. You can find tips on how to do it in this article. Sinterklaasjournaal 2023 recently shared a heartwarming idea – Pieten agreed to put a shoe in a house when they visit so children can share a gift for them. It’s a beautiful moment to teach kids about sharing. Yesterday, we put my husband’s old shoe next to our children’s shoes, and this morning, they found their shoes filled with gifts from Piet and even a shoe from Piet! My daughter was convinced that the name of this Piet is “Toms” after seeing what she thought was his name on the back of the shoe. It was such a lovely experience.

2. Continue Searching For A Correct Safe’s Code

In the coming days, Pieten will persist in discovering the correct code for the safe. The children need to continue assisting them. Visit their website for even more enjoyable activities and keep the excitement alive! On Saturday, my family and I, like many others, will take part in celebrating Sinterklaasavond. We have arranged a hilarious video from Sinterklaas that includes all of our family members and relatives who will be gathering with us. It was a huge success last year, and we expect another fantastic evening. But the festivities do not end there! Our family has also organized a Sinterklaas steamboat adventure for our children. For sure, we are looking forward to even more fun.
