A New Year, A New Perspective
It’s about living every single moment with intention and heart.
It’s a new year, and honestly, I wasn’t entirely ready for it. My parents were visiting from South Korea, and our days were filled with Christmas parties, year-end celebrations, and precious family moments.
2024 felt like it passed in the blink of an eye. If it weren’t for the countless photos I took to share with family back in South Korea, I might not even remember half of what happened.
I didn’t have time to build a vision board, set New Year’s resolutions, or even tidy up the house to spiritually prepare for the new year. But, surprisingly, it didn’t matter. I had one of the best years and the most heartfelt start to a new one. I simply lived every moment of those final weeks of 2024—fully immersed in the joy of my parents’ visit, and celebrating the festive season with the people I truly love and care about.
I’m a natural planner. For as long as I can remember, I’ve approached every new year with intention—carefully building vision boards, setting goals, reflecting on what I want to achieve, and ensuring my environment feels fresh and ready for a new chapter. But this year feels different. Despite not doing any of those preparations, I don’t feel anxious. I know what I want for 2025.
This year, my priority isn’t just about chasing goals or achieving milestones. It’s about living every single moment with intention and heart.
When I set goals, I’m quick to jump into action, driven by motivation and a sense of purpose. But over time, I realized that life isn’t just about ticking off achievements. In the rush to reach the next step, I sometimes overlooked what truly matters—the present moment with the people and experiences I cherish most.
So, in 2025, I’m prioritizing:
- More quality time with the people I love.
- Doing the things that bring me joy.
- Taking better care of myself.
- Less scrolling through meaningless internet content.
- More moments spent staring at the sky, counting stars, and simply being in awe of the world around me.
This isn’t a resolution purely for self-development; it’s a shift in perspective. It doesn’t mean I’m giving up on personal growth or ambition—I’ll still pursue my goals and dreams. But this year, the focus is different.
2025 is about connection, presence, and cherishing the now. It’s about seeing myself not just as an individual chasing goals but as someone deeply connected to my family, my community, and the beauty of everyday moments.
So, there it is—my intention for the year ahead. What about you? What’s your vision for 2025?
